Q'tar turned to face the new guests to the tavern once Treebrother left with the fallen Druid.
"I do apologize for the ordeal you just witnessed there. We are having some trouble with the wildlife outside of town. I am Q'tar, owner and proprietor of the Lightning Lounge. What can I get you?" the Keeper said graciously. "There is stew on the fire and the drink is cold. PLease come in..."
He stepped to one side, sweeping his arm in welcome. He has a broad smile, but his eyes showed lingering anger from the previous few minutes. So he regarded the newcomers veryt closely behing a strained but warm smile of welcome....

The ashen tiger looked to Q'tar, "Uh, food of the natural sort and something sweet, but potent to drink?" she asked, not sure of the man's wares. She gazed at him for a moment before then looking around at the mess, "Perhaps you would like some help cleaning this mess?" She asked in an attempt to be helpful, not something she was normally good at, at least in this kind of thing.

The dark elf looks around for a moment, then apparently decided that everything here was normal.
"I will take a thing. What this thing is I do not know. I will let you decide." Smiling genuinely and auspiciously inspecting each person in the tavern, especially the females, his eyes land on the tavern keeper again. "That is if you would be so kind."
Turning to the other Ku'rasi in the room he smiles broader showing oddly bright teeth compared to his black skin. "We have come at an exciting time I would say! Tell me, How often are decapitated bodies found in your dining establishments up here? This is my first time on the surface, I would not know. I am Reamous and I have come to try everything!"

Amusement flashes across Sharara's expression briefly at the nature of the interruption. "It's the first time in my experience."
Her gaze then turns to Q'Tar. "I know you have customers now, but since Treebrother wants only your help what do you want to do? I still have to make the trip back to Riverwood and then to Winterrend."

Ashe sits in the corner of the room, in a state of disbelief in regards to what just happened, but her face never changes as the events transpired and as Tree Brother left. A smile spreads across her face when the Dark Elf asks his question, she hears Sharara, and says, "I believe you are correct... though, there have been a few heads..." She says with a half-joking smile towards the Dark Elf as she gets up and approaches Q'Tar.
As Sharara asks Q'Tar about his decision, but before Q'Tar replies, Ashe chimes in, "I think the Priest had this one coming... Something seems to have changed with his demeanor in the last couple months since we defeated the plants... He seems to be causing a bit more trouble than he is currently worth." Ashe sighs, "He *IS* our ally though, so we should keep that under consideration. I think we should ask Squire Seth what he thinks we should do, Q'Tar, because even though I trust your wisdom and know you want to do the right thing here, Naphem is deputized and I'm not sure if Seth would be okay with handing him over... I mean, he probably doesn't give a S***, but we should still consult with him." Ashe looks at Sharara and Q'Tar awaiting their opinion on her idea.

The TavernKeeper struggled to process the sudden barrage of questions andcomments as he prepared the drinks for the new comers. He was still smiling as he served them, looking as if he was ignoring the rogue and Sharara.
Then he turned towards them, and his smile melted.
"I am working on that, sister Sharara. It appears that I am the link to save our infant town from the forest."
Then he turned to the rogue, and his brow darkened. "Deputized? You are still clinging to the aspect that he should represent Seth with antics like these? And why is he not here to explain himself?" He looks around the Lounge. "He creates damaging situations, then just vanishes. Almost better that you and my dear friend Tannim."
He puts his hand to his chin, appearing in thought. "Furthermore, we cannot run to Seth every time a problem arises. We helped the forest with the abominations. We formed this alliance with Treebrother. And that alliance is now in danger of becoming war. We cannot allow that to happen." He looked soberly into her eyes. She can see a faint crackle of lightning in the Kurasi's pupils. "If you wish to help me, I will welcome it. If not. so be it."

Ashe nods, understanding the look in his eyes, "I agree, although, it's not that he vanishes, he just spends all of his time in the church..."
Ashe smiles genuinely at Q'tar, hoping he can sense that she is being honest and truly wants to help, "Like I said, I trust you on this. I will help because I believe this alliance is best for the future of the town, and what happened with the Priest..." Ashe makes a face of disgust for a moment before continuing, "I don't want any more fighting, especially not with Treebrother, he is a valuable ally. However, I am going with Sharara to Riverwood and Winterrend whenever she is ready to leave, so hopefully settling this and making peace with the treefolk will not take too long." Ashe says with a smile.
"What would you like to do, Q'tar?"

Sharara gives a slight nod to Ashe. "In the very least, Seth should be briefed on what has transpired and the potential concequences that are coming. If there is going to be a threat to Cinderfall, he should know of it to be prepared. But I agree with Q'Tar; what happened here, the relationship with Treebrother... they are results of our actions in some form or other. As such, for better or worse, we have to accept that responsibility."
Briefly, she glances over at the newcomers, aware that they were likely going to be very lost in this conversation. "It was a good question that you asked Treebrother, Q'Tar and all the more reason for my trip. It might also be prudent to provide Treebrother with some form of identification so that the guard will allow him into the town instead of giving resistance." She releases a small sigh. "The priest has seemingly been becoming more aggressive. At the same time, I find that Raphael's recent actions were also abnormally excessive."

Ashe nods in agreement, "The entire guard should know who Treebrother is, he is a good friend of the town. Raphael is just doing what is necessary for the most part, at least he gets things done. Naphem, on the other hand... is a different story."
Ashe looks to Q'tar to wait for his response to her earlier question.

Q'tar stood silent for a moment, rubbing his chin with his hand.
He knew that they were right. But the course of actions that lie ahead were fragile and perilous ones. If Naphem and Raphael stepped over the line, then that needs to be addressed and dealt with. If some one, or some thing, is altering the trees to be aggressive, that needs to be addressed as well. If it was a result of the priest's and paladin's actions, then extremely difficult decisions lay ahead. I hope that Sharara and Ashe are prepared for what lies ahead.
It was at this point that the Kur'asi yearned for the council of then other three Founding Fathers.
"Until Naphem shows his face, there is nothing we can do with that at this point. Go with my sister Sharara to Riverend. Find out all that you can about our situation. Maybe this monolith has a hand in this." Q'tar said, straightening his posture out. He is sort of an authority figure, after all. He reached over to his table and grabbed a small coin purse. He hands it to Ashe. "Here. This is for the journey. Safe travels."
"Oh, and Ashe," Q'tar says, with a sly smile. "Be back safe. This Tavern is awfully sullen and quiet without music and song."

Ashe takes the coin purse in her hand, "It will not take too long, I'm sure... Oh! And Q'tar!!" In the spirit of honesty, Ashe says, "I want you to know that, regardless of what the Priest did, I believe Raphael's actions were justified, just as much as any of mine were. I was there for everything he did, and I didn't try to stop him from anything he did. He is not the one the treefolk will want and I stand by his actions. The Priest, like I said, is a different story," Ashe's mind flashes back to the Priest exclaiming "I killed it!" when he dealt the killing blow to the tree, Ashe continues, "He needs to be brought to justice for what he has done. I hope you will keep in mind my words when I say that Raphael is more valuable as an ally, and he *is* my ally."
"Thank you again, Q'tar, for accepting my help." Ashe looks to Sharara, "Are you ready to go?"

The Tavern Keeper nods his head in solemn agreement with his new bard.
But no matter when his justifications and intentions may have been, the Kur'asi will never let his guard down again, and will watch the smug Paladin from now on.
As for you, Priest, Q'tar thought to himself, I now have enough evidence to finally deal with you.
he then smiles once again and turns to face the new guests, while cleaning up the bloody mess with a damp rag.
"My apologies once again. So, what brings you to our little town?" The Tavernkeeper said jovially. Clearly back in tavern mode....

Raphael contemplates how his silence in the Tavern has seemingly moved him to a place of invisibility. Having heard a sort of betrayal from Sharara, he stands from the place he was quietly sitting in the back of the room.
"Sharara, as you dare challenge my honor, I would challenge you to an honor duel. I will reach out and see to it that this is overseen by someone of statue, as it is customary."
Raphael pauses for a second, wondering about this course of betrayal.
"Soon, the settlement will have little to fear. Mercenaries and murderers will plague other places knowing that death comes for those who break the laws. Rather than talking them to death and failing miserably, I have done as my orders had me do, leading us to success. And now, your purse full with coins, reaping the rewards of my actions, you would have issue with me."
Raphael holds the amulet of his order in his hand.
"I am trained by the Inquisitor in making mortals talk. In each case, I offered them a chance of surrender (despite the fact that my orders allowed for their death). When they surrendered, their lives were spared. It was my actions that created the trail that we were able to follow to their leader. My actions that saved Aminadale's life (by healing), and the Priest's life (by fearing the mercenary who held dagger to his throat)."
Raphael doesn't seem upset at all, but continues with his lecture.
"So if my actions did as the Captain commanded, I would contemplate yours? Giving mercenaries both weapon and silver and sending them back to Cynderfall, perhaps? We have yet to see how this would pan out. And now, while I move to protect Brother by keeping his commotion private, you move to stab me in the back with your words."
Now, Raphael changes subjects.
"The Knight, Sir Jacob, is a Paladin of my own order. Possibly trained by the same inquisitor. I was given orders that I followed. I broke no law, whether man made or that of Leanisa. And now, I take my leave."
Raphael turns and leaves the Tavern, headed toward the Temple in Riverwood.

Quil accepted her drink with a slight bow of her head and looked around her. She didn't know the whole story, but she had the gist of it, based on the words that had transpired. There was a mission, questionable actions, potentially devastating results to an alliance, and an apparent rift among adventurers. She watched the woman in black, who apparently didnt care for this Naphem priest person, but favored the man with a head trinket, Raphael. Now there were words of duels being slung around, paladins of orders and different names she had no faces to put to, much like the priest. She looked to Q'tar, "As I said before, this is simply where my travels have lead me, would you like some help with that good sir?" She asked, as he seemed to be the man with the most sense thus far. It appeared that the walking tree thing trusted him and most of the other people in the room seemed to look up to him.

The wild elf watches quietly as the inquisitor leaves the tavern, then shakes her head. "Inquisitor. It's such a clean title for such dirty work." She moves carefully around the large pool of blood in the center of the tavern, then takes a seat. "I hunt for a living. Catch and kill my own meals almost every day. But even to me, the thought of intentionally causing pain it distasteful. If you're going to kill something, or, if the need arises, someone, you should make it quick."
The looks over at the ku'rasi and smiles. "Thank you for your hospitality. I know we arrived at a bad time, but you handled it with grace. What sort of stew do you have on the fire?"
