Since her return and the evacuation of Cinderfall, Sharara had set herself up in the Cinderfall barracks. It wasn't much of a room, really, just enough space to provide the work space she needed and a cot to sleep on. It was here, in what could best be described as an office, that she could be found when not participating in patrols or briefings with guards. Most recently, she had just finished pinning a letter to be ran to Sir Jacob to inform him of their successes. They had done well. It hadn't been perfect as there had been some pillaging on the outskirt farms and the like. But, the outcome could have been far worse than what could be written down as colateral damage. Even with the unexpected appearance of the aborrent that had seemed hell bent on reaching the nexus, they had cleanly avoided that potential catastrophy. In the end, there was only one that had required a ressurrection out of their numbers. The guard performed well, also. She was pleased that things were coming along. Just months ago, things might've gone differently.
As Sharara thought about these things, leaning back a little in her chair, she tempered the feeling of victory with the knowledge that they fought one battle, the first battle, in what was a war declared. There would be more battles, more threats. The future could hold smaller such battles as easily as it could hold larger ones. Either way, they would need to be prepared. It was still not advised for citizens of Cinderfall to return just yet, though they would not be stopped from doing so as long as it was with the understanding that there was a war and Cinderfall was at the forefront of its involvement. It did seem, after all, that not all had left in the first place.

There is a firm knock at Sharara's office door... Followed by the voice of Norton...
"Squire, are you busy? ...Its Norton... I have news!"

Sharara had since returned to sifting through reports and things when the knock at the door came. "Come in, Norton."
She looked up and once Norton enters, she nods to him"What news do you have,?"

Norton enters the small office and closes the door...
I know you're busy with the war effort, but since were in a bit of a lul I thought you might have a moment to hear some interesting information about my Shade.
Remember when we traveled along the lay line to battle that beast? ...well while we were in transit I could feel the Shade's presence... Furthermore I could feel that it was anxious... Something about that magic transport seemed to bother it. I was curious if that means anything to you?

The Ku'rasi Squire straightened a little at the unexpected nature of the news. With all that had happened recently, she had mostly expected it to do with the Kreigen. "Is that so?"
Sharara gave that some thought; that was an interesting bit of information. "Since I can count the number of times I've travelled on a lei line since first casting the ritual on one hand, it's not something I've heard of before." She went quiet for a couple more seconds. "It could be how we travel. It isn't like shadow walking. It could be the energy of the particular lei line at a given time. Lei lines are attuned to an energy or element. A line attuned to necromancy may be different for it than being on a line attuned to divine energy. Lei lines are also not stable, existing in a state of flux. They become stronger, weaken, attunements shift and they can simply disappear. When you shadow walk, you travel as you are now on the shadow plane. When we travel on the lei line, it's different as though our physical bodies for a time change somehow to be able to travel in what is essentially a stream of energy. As far as I know, travelling on lei lines isn't something that the intelligent races has done before. Learning more might require some experiementation."

Norton looks intrigued...
"Well I suppose this gives us something to think about if nothing elseā¦ I have one question before I go.
Do you know, or can you find out what happens to a shade if the person it is attached to dies?"

"I can certainly find out. I would suspect, though, that if it doesn't just move on for another victim, it may turn your own spirit into another of its kind."

Norton visably shutters when he hears that he might turn into a Shade upon death...
As you know, I want to drive this fiend out on our terms so we can be ready for it and destroy it once and for all. It could be a problem if it manifests at a random or desperate moment. And for the record I am really NOT interested in becoming one of those foul creatures.

Sharara chuckles a bit at that. "I would hope not; I wouldn't. I'll do what I can. With the Kreigen conflict, I might not be able to act immediately. Using the lei lines to disrupt the shade, though, could be tricky. As I said, travelling on them is new and drawing on other magics while on one can be unpredictable and dangerous. One way or the other, though, we'll get rid of the shade."

I had another thought... While your researching what happens to the Shade if i die find out what happens if I let my shadow fall on holy ground... Particularly the ground of a deiety of light.

"I'll see what I can find. To my knowledge thus far, however, there isn't a means to protect an area of ground from the creation of undead. I had considered the same thing when confronting Xerxes and his forces. I didn't want his necormancers to be able to turn our own fallen against us."

"Ill keep looking myself and will let you know if I discover anything."
Norton moves to leave but turns back.
"If you need anything from me regarding the war effort don't hesatate to ask... Micah and I are at your service."

Sharara gives him a nod. "Thank you, Norton. I'll let you know if and when I want to take you up on that."

Norton nods in return and heads out... Closing the door behind him... He appears to be a man contemplating something unplesant...
