Safety First
First and foremost, safety is our top priority. As such, we do not allow people to play under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Anyone who breaks the out of game law at an Origin event will be dealt with by the authorities.
Respect Others
Respecting personal space is also a priority. As such, do not touch another player without prior consent or without asking “do you accept physical roleplay?” If they say yes, please respect all common sense boundaries. If they seem uncomfortable, cease what you are doing.
Staff Needs to Know
If you have any medical issues or extreme phobias, staff needs to know. This is a very immersive and, at times, dark game with adult themes. It may contain disturbing or intense scenes. Our goal is for everyone to have fun while remaining true to the concept of the game.
Respect the Game
While at the event, staff has final say on all matters. If you are rude to or ignore staff members, you will be sent home without a refund. In addition, cheating is not tolerated. Meta-gaming is sometimes unpreventable. It occurs when a player brings out-of-game knowledge into the in-game world. For example, if you see NPCs leave monster town who are out of game and put on your armor, that is meta-gaming. This is also not tolerated.
Anachronisms
While at the event and while making characters, stay in-game. Do not bring in pop culture references or inside jokes that you share with another player out of game. Please do not steal character ideas from outside sources. You can use them as inspiration up to a certain point. Keep all conversations in character at all times, especially during a lull in the action. Silence your phones and hide out-of-game items away from view.
It’s Just a Game
We repeat, it’s just a game! The goal is for everyone to have fun. If you impede another player’s ability to have fun, you will be removed. Accept in-game consequences as they happen. Don’t hog the plot and the spotlight. Keep out-of-game drama out of game and in-game drama in game. Don’t take a character’s death or misfortune too hard. Take it as part of the story and part of the fun. Every character in our game will eventually die and retire, and there is always more loot to be had.
Player versus Player (PvP) Combat
Don’t kill another player for no reason. Having your character snap and start killing everyone in sight is not a valid reason. Serial killer PCs are never allowed. If that your character is going to kill someone, ensure that both players involved know that their characters have problems with each other and that a murder or duel might take place. Keep in mind that you wouldn’t want someone to randomly kill your character. Keep the game fun for everyone. If there is a question, talk to staff.
