Q'tar came upon his familiar spot of the large tree just as the sun reached it's apex in the sky. Quietly he strode through the small clearing and moved over to the small mound where he buried Tree Brother's heart. Solemnly and swiftly he sprinkled some water upon the mound.
"Sleep well, brother. For I shall see you soon." he said quietly, to no one.
Then he moved slightly and stood before the large tree. Then he sank to his knees in preparation for his meditation time.
Small tendrils of crackling blue energy began swirling around the Kur'asi as he tried to clear his mind and listen to the wind rustling through the surrounding trees of the forest, listening........

After what seemed like a long time, Q'tar listened to the slight breeze blowing through the woods and heard.....
....nothing.....
Can't blame them, the Kur'asi thought as he opened his eyes, the blue lightning tendrils dissipating. We brought forth something that killed one of their own. Something that was innocent. A being rich with curiosity and wonder of our species, and he was snuffed out of this world by something that defied death
He looked up at the large tree with a sorrowful gaze. He could conjure no words to explain the hurt he has caused to his friends of the woods. And if they do not speak to him again, then that is a punishment he will have to endure.
"I am a tavern keeper," the Kur'asi said quietly to the tree, "Maybe I should just stay with that."
He places a hand over Tree Brother's mound in silent mourning, then he slowly rose to his feet. With a final sigh, he turned and slowly made his way back to Cynderfall. The caravan bringinf supplies is due in today, and preparations have to be made for Sir Jacob and his daughter.....

As you begin to walk away you hear a small rustle behind you. Some of the dirt on the mound where you had buried brother slides away and a 6 inch sapling whips its self upright and wobbles slightly in the wind. Its coloring is much the same as brothers. Suddenly several figures step out of the woods all around you. Some tall, some short. Some bulky and knobbed, some thin and brittle looking. Some tree like, some look like grassy ferns and leaves. Some male, some female. All in all there are 6 of them surrounding you. These creatures simply stare at you.

Q'tar spins around at thr rustling sound, and for the first time in a few weeks, a smile creeps across his face.
The smile remained on his face as the other creatures stepped out of the woods. He bowed his head slightly and extended a greeting...
"Good afternoon, friends. My name is Q'tar, and I am a friend of Tree Brother." he said, keeping his head bowed slightly, so he could still observe the others surrounding him. He kept his hands down at their sides, palms open as a sign of friendship.

One of the six moves forward and places a hand gently on Brother's sprout. "You have done this brother a great service Q'tar. He may grow to be a father now." The creature is one of the larger ones with a gnarled face and a mossy beard. He wolds with a large wooden staff.
"Mother wishes to meet you Q'tar, but it is not yet time. She is weak now and must rest. Know that you have our thanks."
With that the creatures leave as one.

Time seemed to stop at the comment.
Mother. Might finally get to meet Mother.
He starred in awe at the larger being as he spoke, then continued to watch in surprise as they all melted back into the woods, the same way in which they arrived.
He placed his hand over his chest and lowered his head once again. "I am truly honored." he said quietly.
They were already gone from view, but the Kur'asi knew they were listening....
