Q'tar stood over the great pot above the fire, dropping pieces of meat and other food items into the broth, stirring occasionally. But him mind was elsewhere....
His thoughts went back to Treebrother and the dead druid that he brought in a few days ago. Treebrother's warning of war still ringing in his ear. The tavern keeper still did not completely understand what happened that fateful day, only that the solution now rests in his. He did not want a trusted friend turn into an enemy because of incompetent 'adventurers'. That just cannot happen.
But one piece of evidence stirred in his mind, as he stirred the pot full of food.....is it linked to the monolith? And the vision? Or even the strange woman, protected in her circles of power, reanimating the dead for her research? Could someone, or something, be playing on the sanctity of the forest spirit, forcing Mother into war? Could the 'adventurers', as they boldly call themselves, be unlikely pawns in a dark game? Is Riverwood linked somehow. or are the 'adventurers' just doing what common thugs do?
Too many questions with no easy answers. Hopefully his sister Sharara will find something in her research.
One thing is for certain, Q'tar thought as he added a hint of spices from a nearby jar, we cannot afford any added problems. If he cannot solve the riddle of the dead druid in time, the monolith will not be the only threat to his beloved sprawling new town.......
The Kur'asi tasted the stew. Perfect.
