Naphem Morgenstern was born to the poor family of a priest in a small village to the north. Naphem grew up in his fathers shadow, as everyone expected him to take up the path of a holy man. Naphem however, wanted to be a soldier. His father had been a guard earlier in his life and as such had a suit of light armour and a blade. During his childhood Naphem trained day in and day out with a weighted mock sword, hoping one day to use his fathers weapon and join the army of the local Baron. When Naphem was thirteen years old, one day when he went to the woods to gather wood Marauding bandits sacked his village.
By the time he returned his entire village was cleansed in flame. As he investigated his old home he found three things. His fathers body. The holy book of Tiberius that his father clutched to his chest. And his fathers sword, knocked from his hand.
He buried his family, spoke the rights from the book and left with just just those items and the clothes on his back.
For the next ten years he wandered all throughout the Kingdom of Zenith, though mostly within Winters Bane. He has traveled from Winterrend to Riverwood. From Southgard to Wyrmgard.
Throughout this time he developed a strong sense of doubt in himself. He met many interesting people in his travels, one of them was a monk. A man who had dedicated himself to the perfection of body and mind. Naphem sought absolution in the field of battle, seeking to perfect his bodily form and reading his fathers book to train his mind. He stayed with the monk longer than most, almost a full year, but they eventually parted ways in the city of Newport.
Eventually after years of travelling and studying his fathers book Naphem arrived in the settlement of Cinderfall. The desolate sight of the destroyed town reminded him so much of his original home, he swore an oath on the spot that he would help make this town into something great.
