The sun was just breaking the horizon when the tavern keeper and newly appointed Esquire rubbed his eyes. Then he rose with a sigh and grabbed a cup of Elixir of Energy. Then he
walked back towards the chair he sat in all night, staring at the small statue that powers the protective circle around the tavern.
The circle that was breached. The circle he no longer trusts.
What do I do to fix this? Q'tar thought to himself as he looked again upon the statue. He took a small sip from the hot liquid as he slipped back into deep thought.
He should not have trusted Adrian when he gave it to him as a 'gift'. The one man who tried to destroy the town at one time. Now he just waltzes in and provides protection for the Tavern? Then
that egotistical head hunting paladin just walks past it. with no explanation? And to have something STOLEN from the tavern...
His gaze shifted to the mantle, where the now destroyed relic that was once Zipperhead sits. Its mangled appearance as a permanent display of just how untrustworthy some people are. Why the trophy?
What was the significance or purpose? To show they could do it? As an insult towards Q'tar?
And the thief. No integrity at all.
Or even more chilling....Who else can just walk in? Just how big is this breach? What is Adrian's endgame? Shady people always have an agenda. Always.
The Kur'asi noble finished off the cup. No. This was his tavern He built it. And no one.....NO ONE....is going to steal from it, or him, ever again..............
