Quil opens the door to the tavern, which smelled amazing to her, and held it open for her two traveling companions: a Wolf Therian and a Cat Therian. They were not in the best repair, but they were alive and back in Cynderfall. Quil's own appearance was disheveled and dusty. Her blueish fur now stained red or dark brown in some places and looked gray overall with dust. She no longer had any white fur on her person.
She closed the door behind her and grabbed a seat as she looked around the tavern. Her green eyes focused intently as she caught unfamiliar smells, but she at this moment didn't particularly care as she let her ears fall back slightly and relaxed in the chair. She looked to her two companions and asked quietly, "What do you guys want?" Her voice was soft and somewhat gravelly. One wouldn't be able to tell if it was the natural tiger growl or if perhaps she had been shouting too much recently.

The wolf therian enters clad in a tan surcoat, trimmed with white fur anf odd plates that looked like they were...stone? The plates, engraved with runes, were strapped to shoulders and thighs as tassets and pauldrons. His hair is long and brown, tied back in a tail. He sits heavily on a stool and leans on the back rest, puffing out the last of an exerted breath. His tail is ragged and matted with dirt and blood and his skin is dusty and scarred.
"Thank the gods...all of them. Um...something sweet? I have about enough of salted meat and ale."
He picks his teeth with his claws.
"Still picking the S*** out of my teeth..."

For once, she did not have a huge urgency to depart Cinderfall for somewhere else. This allowed her the chance to spend some time in town without the stress of eminent doom. After taking care of business around town, she stops in the lightning lounge to see what is going on at the establishment. Pausing at the board, she sees the notes posted by Raphale and the Oni bard. With a smirk of amusement, she shakes her head.
Finally, her gaze settles on Quil and his companion. "You two look a little worse for wear."

A cat therian wearing a brown leather duster leisurely walks in behind them. She, too, looks disheveled, the dust from the road still clinging to her travel-worn boots. A broad rimmed hat shades her eyes from the world around her, but it doesn't hide the amused smile playing at the corners of her lips. She closes her eyes and breathes in deeply. "Ahh... the smell of alcohol. I'd almost forgotten it."
She sits down and smiles wearily at Quil. A black tail pokes out from the seat of the chair, swishing slightly. "I don't care much for flavor at this point. Something strong, and plenty of it. Second round's on me."

Quil looked up to the female Ku'rasi and smiled tiredly, "Indeed, it has been....a challenge the last month." She said and walked up to the male Ku'rasi and asked quietly, "Two sweet drinks and a strong one please?" She was already rifling in her pouch for the coins to give the man.

Without a word, but a warm smile, Q'tar filled three goblets with the requested drinks and taking the silver. His movements seem almost robotic...

The wolf looks towards Sharara with a look of utter unamusement.
"You spend a month walking the woods executing animals" After a few gasps from nearby patrons he corrects himself.
"What? They went dire? The had to be put down...It's not like I liked it..."
Obviously weary from the road with little mouth filter left he dismisses the objectors with a wave of his hand.
"Damn guild thinks that hell was worth only 30 freaking silver a piece. A MONTH we were out there hunting the damn things down."
He continues his grumbles until his drink arrives.

Quil took the drinks from the tavern keep and smiled a weary thank you. "Easy, money is money, we did our job; now let us enjoy being done. We know just not to take an assignment from that person again." She said, some of her words not quite making it into her sentence. She flopped into the chair, narrowly missing sitting on her tail, but at this point she seemed too tired to care. She took a long pull from her drink after raising it slightly to her companions. She relished the sweet taste and could have died happily there.

Sharara chuckles a little at that. "Well, things haven't been entirely unexciting around here. Tell me, what have you seen on your travels?"

The cat therian leans back in her and holds up a hand. "Let's see... dire wolves, a dire panther, a few dire rats, chimera..." As she mentions each of the slain monsters, she lowers one of her fingers until just her index finger remains. She narrows her eyes at it, her tail swishing behind her.
"I feel like I'm missing something... gods, it's been a long couple of weeks. What am I forgetting..."
Her eyes widen as the forgotten memory resurfaces. She groans and puts her face in her hands. "Dire squirrel. That fluffy bastard. I thought squirrels stuck to nuts and berries, but THIS one had a taste for flesh. Nasty."

Quil's ears flattened against her head as she remembered the squirrel, a slight hint of embarrassment. She shook it off and looked to the Ku'rasi female, "Yes, I can see that, based on the board over there. Who is this Xerxes that was mentioned? The town seems to continue to be sullen, and now somewhat tense?" She said as she downed the rest of her drink and set it down quietly next to her feet, intending to get more soon. "There seems to be a bit of a written....spat?" She asked more than said, not really sure what to call what she had read. "It sounds something of children fighting because neither side is communicating properly. There are words there, but it doesn't sound like either have been diplomatic.....but then again, that's just outside looking in." She observed outloud, like her wolf friend, her filter wasn't fully in place.

Sharara offers Q'Tar a couple of silver for a drink before joining the other adventurers. "Xerxes is a part of ancient history, once a Lich before the end of the High elves who was then trapped and subsequently freed recently from his imprisonment. He was amassing undead and threatening Cinderfall and the Barony as a whole. We did manage to contain him once more, but it wasn't without its price. The one you might've heard being called Tree Brother is no longer with the living and was a close friend of Q'Tar's here. Cinderfall is a relatively new settlement, as it setles into its place in the world it's going to seem very.. intense at times." She smiles a bit. "It'll improve."
"As for that..." She glances over at the post board, then back. A look of mild amusement crosses her features. "Not all of our chllenges in containing Xerxes again were external, some were internal." Sharara seems thoughtful then for a few moments. "More than just Cinderfall are young and in experienced. Sometimes, things need to be allowed to play out for life's lessons to be learned. Nevermind that, though, it's good you've returned safely."

Kairn shudders at the mention of the Squirrel. "F***ing flea ridden piece of....." He lifts up his shirt to show two 4 inch scars in his side from where he was bitten. He continues mumbling over his drink whilst Sharara speaks.
"Inexperienced? Sounds like just bickering to me. Every time we come here it is honor duel this and honor duel that." He shakes his head.
"I think they misunderstand the concept of an honor duel. You don't call an honor duel over just not liking a man..."He flicks his tail and bits of sand and dirt fall from its tip.
He pulls out a few silver and lays them on the table to pay for the drinks.
"I need a freaking room so I can be more fur than dirt.."

Lucky knocks back her drink, then puts her cup on the table and gestures toward the tavern master. "Another round for my friends and I. A hot meal would also be fantastic."
She smiles leans back in her chair, putting her hands behind her head. "Just think of it. Beef in a thick and savory broth, with carrots and potatoes. Or a nice bit of chicken, well seasoned on a bed of wild rice. S***, at this point I'd be happy with anything hot that we don't have to cook. No dire beasts to worry about, no chimera terrorizing the outer roads. It's almost like we're on vacation."
She makes a face at the mention of a lich. "Wait, seriously? An ancient lich, here in this barony? Maybe the dire squirrel wasn't so bad after all."

"I agree, but... what are you going to do?" She chuckles a little, then glances at the revealed scars. "That looks like it was unpleasant. Did you have a healer look at it?"
She smiles a little at Lucky. "I joke not. We took care of it, but there is still some clean up to do. If you take further work from the guild, I'd keep an eye out. For better things, though, there is a new bard in town. I think you three might find him entertaining."
